DiGiTAL Farming

Indian Agriculture is dependent on old Traditional Methods.
Because of change in climate and Global Warming, there is need to change the old weather dependent methods of practicing Agriculture.

Indian Farmers were idol of hard-work and dedication towards work. They used to get up early in the morning to work in the fields but this concept has slightly changed now. The present Indian Farmers avoid to do labor in the field and hence the bull used to reap the field has been replaced by Tractors.
Now, the early riser farmer gets up according to his convenience, as now they are involved in Drinking, Smoking and other ill things. Farmer uses dangerous and killing fertilizes DDT and Deldrin in fields instead of cow Dung which is a Bio Fertilizer and available freely to him, hence with the use of these chemicals the fertility of land and Quality of soil gets destroyed. The nutrients present in soil are not replenished and hence the continuous use of these fertilizers makes the land Barren Overtime.
So with the Digital India Mission I aim at developing such device which could help farmers to practice Agriculture more easily by knowing the type of soil and the nutrients required by their crops in the soil.
Here is a small session of Digital India Mission with specified Questions and their answers:

Q. Describe Your Product or Service ?

Ans. My Product is a Hardware and Software based working model. This model makes use of wide variety of sensors like Soil Moisture, Gas sensor, Temperature sensor, Nutrient Monitoring, Sound Sensor, Ultrasonic sensor, IR/UV sensor etc. The model detects the Moisture Present in soil, Gases in atmosphere and their percentage, Temperature, Minerals in soil etc. All the sensors are designed and programmed in such a way that their result will be displayed on screen of Laptop or Mobile Phones or some device can be designed to continuously show the result of monitoring.

Q. How did the idea Originate ?

Ans. This model was basically made to be sent in space to monitor the Physical, Chemical and Environmental Prospects of a planet but after making little changes it could be used on Earth for the benefit of citizens.

Q. What is the basic Problem or gap you have identified and how does your idea address it?

Ans. The basic problem which I have Identified is that the Agriculture sector which is dependent on Traditional methods of Farming which have become Obsolete must be replaced with modern methods. With the help of sensors employed in fields Farmers would be able to identify the Quality of soil, Moisture in soil, Nutrients required by the crops in soil for their good and healthy growth etc.
The sensors will automatically tell them about minerals lacking and other things necessary for their crops by showing them on the screens of their mobile phones or some apparatus which could be available with these sensors. This type of equipment could also be used by other citizens to check the quality of air they breathe by employing gas and smoke sensors in their homes.

Q. Who will be your primary customers ? What is the addressable size of your target market? What are growth prospects of your target market ?

Ans. Primary customers will be farmers and normal citizens of our country who should be made aware about the increasing impact of pollution from various sources like AC, Refrigerators, Vehicles etc.
The size of market can range from farmers to every citizen of our country.
If people would be benefited from this idea then the size of market will definitely increase.

Q. How do you plan to get your solution to target market ?

Ans. Instantly I plan to give this equipment to each and every village in India Free Of Cost. It can also be employed on government offices in cities. Then once people will realize the importance of this , then it could be sold through websites or by Direct Marketing Concept.

Q. What are currently available alternatives to your proposed solution and how does your solution compare with competition ?

Ans. The main competition could be with companies which deal with such kind of equipment, it could also be fertilizer factories which promote farmers to use fertilizers without checking the quality of soil. People's awareness can also be hindrance to its success. Huge campaigns and creating awareness  through videos, Advertisements etc. may help to promote its benefit to society.

Q. Describe your Revenue Generation model ?

Ans. This product is designed mainly for the benefit of society so I never thought of seeking revenue from it. But revenue can be generated when our farmers would be contended, they would not be cheated by using harmful fertilizes. People would not be sick because of consumption of food containing harmful DDT, Deldrin. Indian Economy will prosper if the farmers will be strong. People will be aware if they will practically see that how bad is the quality of air they are breathing in and will help to make India pollution free. In this way revenue can be generated by benefiting the citizens of our country.
